Magnolia, TX – An 18-Wheeler slammed into a pick-up truck injuring both drivers in Magnolia, TX.

According to the Montgomery County Police Reporter, at approximately 6 a.m., an 18-Wheeler dump truck hauling sand was involved in an accident with a Dodge Ram pick-up truck on FM 1488 and Authors Drive in Magnolia, Texas. Reports indicate the driver of the pick-up had exited the Williams Trace subdivision and failed to yield the right of way of the eastbound 18-Wheeler. The 18-Wheeler collided with the pick-up truck and continued into a creek bed. The accident caused the 18-Wheeler to lose its load and spill oil and fuel into the creek bed.

Milstead Hazmat arrived at the scene for clean-up.

What Is A T-Bone Accident?

When the front of one motor vehicle strikes the side of another motor vehicle, it resembles a “T” at the point of impact.  This type of side collision is often referred to as a “T-bone” accident. T-bone accidents can cause serious personal injury or death, particularly for the motor vehicle being struck on its side. The driver of that vehicle is only protected by the door.  Regardless, depending on the speed and size of the vehicles, everyone involved in a T-bone accident is at risk.

T-bone accidents typically occur at intersections. A driver may run a red light or other traffic control device and cause the accident. However, T-bone accidents can occur elsewhere such as a parking lot or highway.  Wherever a T-bone accident occurs, those injured may have legal recourse to recover financial compensation for personal injuries and other damages from the at-fault party.

In some circumstances, the drivers involved in a T-bone accident may both have fault in causing or contributing to the accident. One or both drivers may argue each had the right of way. It’s critical to hire a lawyer immediately to collect important evidence to establish the cause of the T-bone accident and who is legally responsible for any injuries or property damage.
