Speeding and Car Accidents

Driving a car at an excessive speed can be dangerous. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding was a factor in about one-third of all motor vehicle accident deaths. Speeding can result in:

  • a longer distance to stop a vehicle in time
  • greater chance of losing control
  • likelihood of greater property damage
  • likelihood of greater injuries including death
  • increased fuel costs
